Jacobson Companies traces its roots to 1971, when brothers Don and Larry Jacobson founded a small real estate and land development business in Yuma, Arizona. As the company took on home building and grew into new markets, it was renamed Jacobson Companies in 1977 to reflect its expanding scope.

Bruce Jacobson joined his brothers in 1974, bringing decades of civil engineering experience that dated back to 1963 — work spanning water and sewer systems, roads, highways, and flood control across Arizona. As Don and Larry stepped away from the business over the years, Bruce's steady, solutions-first leadership became the driving force behind the company's growth. Under that leadership, Jacobson Companies has grown into a diversified family of businesses spanning residential and commercial construction, underground utilities, engineering, concrete, building materials, real estate development, and property management — building the neighborhoods, businesses, and infrastructure that Yuma calls home for more than 50 years.
