Senior Vice President and Civil Engineer
Bruce Jacobson has been involved in civil engineering and development projects in Arizona since 1963. As an engineering, his experience includes design of water and sewer treatment plants, pumping and distribution systems, roads and streets, interstate highway systems and flood control structures, survey and design for both the private and public sectors for his entire career.
He joined his brothers, Don and Larry, at Jacobson in 1974. Don and Larry have since left the company and Bruce is now the majority owner. Our company's success is based on Bruce's ability to look at an idea, issue, problem, or opportunity and very quickly break it down into manageable parts to find a solution. Often times, it not only benefits our company, but the Yuma Community as a whole.
Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer
Gordon Jacobson rejoined our team in May of 2019 as our Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President after a twelve year absence. During that time he worked as an independent construction consultant in New Delhi, India, a senior cost consultant for Project Time & Cost LLC, a global leader in project and construction management in South Carolina and Washington. Gordon is a certified Cost Professional, Construction Manager and a current member of the Construction Management Association of America.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael J Jarvis is the President, Chief Executive Officer and designated Real Estate Broker for the Jacobson Companies. He oversees all real estate transactions, ensuring the appropriate code of ethics and the highest professional standards are always followed. Mike has been in the construction industry for almost 50 years, starting out as a construction yard helper in Phoenix. He began working as the controller for The Tanner Companies in 1988. He has the CEO of Jacobson Companies for almost 25 years.
Controller and Treasurer
After working with some other accounting firms in Yuma, Dan started with the company in 2004 as an accounting manager. He became the controller a few years later. He handles all of the financial accounting for the Jacobson Companies and all affiliated entities. Dan is a CPA and a graduate of Arizona State University with a BS in Accounting.
Office / IT Manager and Corporate Secretary
Marge has been with the company since late 2011 after coming over from Cemex. She manages the office activities such as insurance, human resources, accounting systems, banking and all of the information technologies used by the Jacobson Companies. Marge has a BSBA from the University of Arizona in a field of Management Information Systems.
Vikki has been with the company since 2018. She handles many of our managerial accounting transactions and works closely with our controller to produce reports for our management team. She has more than 25 years accounting experience and has worked for other contractors in the Yuma area.
Braden began working for the company as a laborer while he was going to school. He has since received his OSHA 30 hour certificate. He moved into the office earlier this year as our administrative assistant. He provides support to the rest of the team. He directs customers and vendors to the appropriate division while maintaining a positive and can-do attitude.
