THE FIRST 50 YEARS
In March of 1971, Don and Larry Jacobson founded Jacobson Realty and Development now known as Jacobson Homes division of Jacobson Companies. The company was originally formed for real estate sales and land development but quickly added home building to its scope of activities. Jacobson Realty and Development became the parent entity as The Jacobson Companies in 1977 and then became The Jacobson Companies, Inc. in 1996. Don Jacobson and Larry are no longer involved with the company operations. A third brother, Bruce Jacobson, Senior Vice President/Civil Engineer, came on board in 1975 and is now the majority owner. The other corporate officers are Michael J Jarvis as President/CEO, Gordon T. Jacobson as Senior Vice President/COO, Marjorie Harper as Secretary/Office & IT Manager. Daniel Jacobson is our Financial Officer and Controller. The company was originally formed for real estate sales and land development but quickly added home building to its scope of activities. Since that time other businesses such as commercial construction, hardware and lumber store, civil engineering and storage facilities have also been established.
